The original bean counter’s birthday has gone … but we’re still counting on YOU!
Dear Friends of PPI
November and December are a bit of a doozy, no matter what your age, occupation or cultural affiliation. Whether it’s celebrating, decorating, commemorating or all of the above, something is constantly nipping at your heels, with the added stress of time running out before the new calendar year! (When we just start back at the beginning, rinse and repeat …)
When you got our fun “turkey card” in the mail somewhere just before Thanksgiving, you may have glossed over our enthusiastic attempt at expressing our gratitude and delayed your response to a less pressing time.
Beethoven’s birthday came and went this week (uncertainty actually exists about the exact day. He was baptized on the 17th of December, hence PPI’s honoring of that particular date), but we’re still eager to receive more hand turkeys and more envelopes from our adoring friends.
Did you know that we consider Beethoven the original bean counter, in the literal sense of the word? It’s a well-documented fact that the great composer would painstakingly count out sixty coffee beans each morning for a careful ritual of brewing his perfect cup. As a bunch of coffee addicts, we appreciate that. Here’s to counting more blessings and more contributions in the days to come, in honor of the music we all love and adore!
(Thank you to our friend TONY who shares our love for Beethoven’s favorite bean!)
