Uri Caine threads jazz and classical piano together to create a unique style. His sound is edgy, intelligent, and fun. An active composer, Caine studied under George Rochberg and George Crumb at the University of Pennsylvania, and his works are frequently commissioned throughout the world.
From 2006-2009, he was composer in residence for the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra and premiered his Concert for Two Pianos and Chamber Orchestra. Recording over 21 CDs as leader, he was nominated for a Grammy Award for The Othello Syndrome in 2009.
