Description of the Organization

PPI, a small organization with limited staff and an annual budget of approximately $400,000, is widely recognized for the high quality and consistency of its presenting and educational activities. PPIŐs activity level is seasonal, and is equivalent to three-quarter time on an annual basis. Leadership and management is a Ňhands-onÓ activity, with assistance from a combination of salaried and part-time staff, board members and community volunteers.

 

The Executive Director provides leadership in the implementation of Portland Piano InternationalŐs mission, goals and programs. Key areas of responsibility are organizational management, Board relations and communication, strategic planning, fund development, budget and financial management, program management, and community relations and advocacy. The Executive Director works in collaboration with the Artistic Director, who has the responsibility for all programming and artist selections. Both Executive Director and Artistic Director report directly to the Board.

 

Work History: The Executive Director would need to have had experience in non profit arts management with increasing levels of responsibility.

The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors.
